Advice on how to make new friends elsewhere.
I moved to Australia a few months ago and, like everyone else who has changed lives, I had a common problem: making new friends.
This phase is not always as easy as it may appear and, based on my experience, I thought it would be useful to share my tips on how to actually make new connections when moving abroad.
Below is a list of my tips:
- Attend events:
I started attending events for the first time in my life here in Melbourne, Australia and I admit that they have quickly become one of my favorite ways to make new connections!
By events I mean organizations that involve the active participation of the attendee; the most effective method I have tried so far has been work experiences.
If you follow me, you’ll know that I recently participated as a staff member at the Australian Open (my lifelong dream), which was an absolutely perfect event and a great opportunity to make new connections as there are so many people present and we work as a team, so what better way to make friends?
